Product descriptionLeetie Lovendale Key FeaturesMade in the USAOur team makes our jewelry by hand, right in our Arizona studio space. We are proud to create all of our jewelry here the US using mostly vintage plastics & new hypoallergenic metals. Light-Weight JewelryBecause of the light-weight nature of Lucite, Acrylic and the various vintage plastics and resins we use in our jewelry, you can wear a piece & it won't weigh you down. People with sensitivities to heavy jewelry love our options. SustainableWe use 95% vintage jewelry components in our designs. These plastics parts were originally headed for a landfill in the early 2000's and we salvaged 40,000 pounds of shapes and use them in the jewelry we design today. HypoallergenicOur plastics might be vintage, but our metals are not. We manufacture our earrings using surgical steel posts and hypoallergenic ear wires. This makes our jewelry collection perfect for ears sensitive to other metals. Leetie Lovendale Jewelry is Made in the USAWe make all of our jewelry right here in our Tempe, Arizona-based studio. We take old vintage parts & make handmade jewelry fit for today using only the best materials. The Leetie Lovendale StoryA Jewelry Line born of leftovers...That is the story of the first haul of vintage components, and where Leetie Lovendale began. However, since then, we use our contacts in the jewelry industry, job lot fashion districts, and more to continue to unearth previously un-usable goods we can incorporate into our designs. Our parts were mostly US-made in the mid-century, with some plastics coming from Europe as well.
Jars of Vintage Beads & Earrings Where did you find all those vintage jewelry parts? In 2004, our company's founder & designer owned a bead store. She got a call from someone on the East Coast, asking if they'd like to purchase the contents of several rooms in their warehouse which had been closed up since 1983. The company had at one time been called 'Best Plastics' and they made jewelry components including beads and other shapes for big-time jewelry designers and manufacturers of the mid-1900s. The shapes had been originally created between 1963 and 1982.
Meet Leetie LovendaleLeetie Lovendale is a jewelry line born of leftovers. When jewelry designer, Heather DeSimone lived in Maine & co-owned a bead store, she cleaned out the contents of a plastics warehouse containing loads of vintage parts. After learning how to connect those parts & all about mid-century costume jewelry manufacturing, Leetie Lovendale was born. Fast forward almost 15 years to a cross-country move and the building of a family, Leetie has been in business for over 10 years and can attribute its growth to our team of creatives, hand-makers, sales specialists, packers, and shippers. Leetie Lovendale is currently based in their Tempe, Arizona warehouse and studio space. |
